Shark Tank star Kevin O’Leary alias Wonderful has revealed that for the first time he has more crypto exposure than gold. He hopes to increase his crypto allocation to 7% in the next few months, stressing that “I do not see a situation where crypto will ever go out.”
Kevin O’Leary now has more crypto than gold
Kevin O’Leary has revealed for the first time that his portfolio now has more room for cryptocurrencies than gold. He tweeted on Saturday:
For the first time, my crypto exposure is higher than gold.
His comments came after an interview with Daniela Cambone of the Stansbury Research Institute, published on Friday. Emphasizing that he is a “believer”, Wonderful, an investor in cryptocurrencies, said: “By the end of the year, I expect to get 7% of our operating company’s cryptocurrencies.” Moreover, he said, “I invest in a wide range of different encryption products as a strategy.”
The shark tank star noted:
I’m glad to hear from anyone, but sorry, the answer is I do not agree if you have zero exposure to crypto.
Governments’ idea of making Bitcoin illegal ‘goes too far’
O’Leary shared his opinion on whether governments can ban cryptocurrencies. Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates, was quoted as saying, “If Bitcoin succeeds, the government can kill it. Can Bitcoin be stopped?
Mr. Wonderful replied: “It is a great debate. However, increasing the productivity of cryptocurrencies and the overall infrastructure of decentralized finance (DFI) are of great interest even to governments. I do not think the U.S. government needs to lag behind in developing the new payment methods and services online that will be brought forward by the development of all forms of centralized and decentralized financial systems. He explained:
So I do not see a situation where crypto will ever go away … I think the idea of synchronizing governments around the world to outlaw Bitcoin is far-reaching.
Crypto is no longer just betting on bitcoin prices. There are many other ways to invest, especially blockchain opportunities, Solana, Ethereum … many different levels and then, of course, the second level is Etirium & Solana and everything else [non-fungible tokens] Is [also] It will grow very fast, ”he said.
Bitcoin vs. Gold
Commenting on his gold investment, he said: “I have 5% gold … I will keep my gold. I see no reason to sell it. ”
Oleri was recently asked if he agrees with Virgin Galactic president Chamath Palihapitiya, who says Bitcoin has “officially replaced gold.”
He replied: “No, there is no substitute for gold. Gold has been tested and proven for over 2000 years. The Romans stored it. I think gold happens to be an asset class in property like mine and other things.”
O’Leary concluded with regard to the overall crypto industry:
I see a lot of investment opportunities and I am going to be an investor in that space.
